Pepper, a retired Air Force colonel, is very active in parish, diocesan, and national church affairs, and maintains an extensive information dissemination service and correspondence on line. He faithfully offers the Daily Office at his home parish of St. Michael and All Angels.
Pepper writes, "Shortly after my profession as a Companion of Rivendell I began chanting the morning and evening offices daily. As a solitary I do the offices solo, most often, but am never alone--for in the reverberating echoes I hear the voices of my sisters and brothers...
It doesn't matter if you are on pitch, or whether your voice fills the space and leaps to the stars. You will be worshipping with your community, and they will take you places you could never reach on your own. Together you will discover places and ways you'd not have imagined, perhaps even ones you'd rather not have know. But you will not be alone."
