         James, CRC

James was ordained as a (transitional) Deacon in January, 2008, James now serves as Vicar of St. Matthew's Episcopal Church, Covington, Tennessee.  James is a member of the Emmaus chapter, and has served as Companion in Charge.

James' process of education and formation for ordained ministry included receiving a Masters of Divinity degree from Memphis Theological Seminary and A Certificate of Theological Studies from The University of the South School of Theology, Sewanee, TN.  James is in the process of working on his Doctor of Ministry degree during the summers in Sewanee.

James writes, "The rule and my relationship with Patti have been my containers as I attempt to deal with the changes in our lives.  Patti and I begin most days doing Morning Prayer together and it is obvious on the days that something takes over and we do not get to pray together.  Our chapter meetings provide a place for me to unload when necessary and learn about living in community."
