Ernst, CRC
Ernst, a retired physician, is resident at the Motherhouse, where he specializes in gardening, wood cutting, and other outdoors work. He enjoys the friendship of Amish neighbors, and sometimes advises them on medical concerns and helps them access services. He is also a skilled woodcarver. He is married to Susie, also a Companion.
He writes, "Feeling ever closer to nature, living the rhythm of ever-changing life, and becoming more and more aware of being part of a divine creation is far more than I could ever imagine in times past.
"The highlight at the end of my day is to offer up to God my daily work and give thanks to him for allowing me to be part of his wondrous creation and to share in the life of our community."
